Linking for Search Engine Optimisation

Since we are all here to get high quality link juice back to our domains. I thought it would be prudent to have a quick quality check on the importance of the link text that you are using in your backlinks. Here are a few key concepts: 1. Make sure you have the keywords in the link text at the destination (pop up page) of your link. Spiders crawl your link text and assume it’s that the next page is the next part of the puzzle, so they are looking for an association or relevance to the words in the link text to where the link are pointing. 2. Make sure you use long tail variations for your keyword phrases. Look to use 3-4 word phrases, these may not be the highest competitive search phrase, in this way you will get good traffic results from different angles and a tick in the search engines relevance box. 3. Make sure that you vary your link text. Google and other search engines do not like manufactured patterns. They want to see a natural organic linking growth to your domain. As if lots of people were linking in their own words to your site, but still use the keywords as mentioned before. Three key points to help you get the most out of your back links in any place.
